Pearson Product Content Specialists use their subject matter expertise to thoughtfully engage students in real-world assessment of academic standards.
Note: This is a limited-term opening for the remainder of 2024.
Possibility of renewal based on performance and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities: Bring unique perspective on creating assessment content specifically for formative product deliverables that are aimed at informing personalized classroom instruction and improving student learning outcomes Create and apply specifications and guidelines for developing formative content for diagnostic assessments, including for how to create content that is culturally responsive and adheres to Pearson’s values for diversity, equity, and inclusion Innovate, using research-based approaches for designing new assessments that are for learning Be willing to explore and engage in creating content for game-based assessment and other immersive technologies Evaluate product content needs and create asset development plans, assessment designs, and other documentation for plans, processes, project schedules, and specifications Develop, review, and revise items based on item specifications, item guidelines, and accessibility considerations, and following the principles of Universal Design for Learning using web-based authoring tools Select, assign, manage, and train item writers/vendors and educators to develop items based on standards, cognitive complexity, and item development best practices Facilitate and support internal and external meetings, develop and present content-related training materials, and provide content and assessment expertise Contribute to assessment product designs and key features, including the integration of assessments with learning materials and the creation of product technical information, user guides, and marketing collateral Contribute to product efficacy and evaluation studies in collaboration with researchers Work closely with other content developers, psychometricians, and other Pearson groups Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, or equivalent degree required Experience as a secondary teacher in mathematics required Some experience in mathematics assessment and/or publishing is preferred Professional knowledge of education and assessment trends required Professional experience teaching students of diverse cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of learning needs Experience creating assessment and/or instructional content that is culturally responsive and follows the principles of Universal Design for Learning Outstanding oral and written communication skills Skill in identifying problems and providing solutions to a variety of audiences required Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and ability to coordinate multiple activities and adapt to unexpected events required Skill in evaluating and providing input on project schedules and process documents required Broad knowledge of common software programs, strong technology skills, and the confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar projects required Experience creating curriculum or instructional activities preferred but not required Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $60,000 - $65,000.
